MFW SS15 Day 4 Diary
Day four was spent at Polimoda Talents at Castello Sforzesco. It is a presentation of new international talents coming from different Italian schools. I was able to meet one of the protagonists of the event – Claudia Susini. She’s a new graduate of Fashion Design. Her collection is called – La Promesse. Fascinated by the techniques of textiles typical of the ‘700 (adopted until the 60s in the Convent of the Sisters of Giuseppine Empoli) and by the work of the Florentine Daniela De Lorenzo, the designer offers twenty-four leaders from the well-defined structure thanks to use of materials like white poplin, felt in shades of blue and genuine leather. These fabrics were distinguished through the cuts in essential lines and technical materials that maintain a stable yet unchanged form. I love watching Victorian films and I like the nuns’ robes or clowns and puppet costumes – somewhat a mixture of these ideas. Above all I adore the wide-leg pants although slightly undone yet ingeniously put-together looks and the machine works combined with fabric starch cotton.
Enjoy the show . . . and there’s more on Day 5! Don’t miss it!
